Open Studio From Home: Lenore Tawney
Lenore Tawney created Four Petaled Flower II using a technique she developed herself called “open warp.” A warp is the name for vertical strands that provide support in a woven textile. Working between these strands, Tawney wove in such a way to reveal the otherwise invisible structure of the textile and to allow light to peek through.

Together, we will make our own looms with materials we have at home. Then, we will weave our own tiny tapestries!

Materials:
––Cardboard
––Scissors
––Tape
––Colorful yarn or thin strips of cloth
––Big plastic needle or small piece of stiff wire
