Imaginative Printmaking inspired by Andrea Carlson
Join us for virtual Open Studio for Teens workshops! Teens are invited to a free artmaking program on Zoom with Whitney educators. Each week, participants will experiment, create, and learn together with at-home art projects inspired by the Whitney’s exhibitions and collection.

Andrea Carlson is a visual artist who primarily makes large-scale, multi-part works on paper through a combination of drawing and painting. Her new work, Red Exit, is currently on view. Highly intricate and graphic, these compositions coalesce into expansive, disorienting scenes that often evoke futuristic and, at times, apocalyptic worlds. Inspired by the layers found in Carlson's artwork, teens will create multi-color prints.

Materials: Cardboard. Aluminum foil. Dull point pencil. Glue. Paint or marker.

By registering for this program, I certify that I am a high school student. I understand that as a participant, I am expected to respect the virtual space by being kind to others, using polite language.
